Reflect, reset, and soothe your way into the week.

Welcome to Sunday Soothies, where we say ‘heyyy’ to Sunday Scaries and then get back to what matters most in our life. Cozy up with your favorite drink for some tips, tricks, and community to soothe your way into your upcoming week!

  1. Do something seasonally. Ever felt like doing something fun or new, but backed out because it felt like too much to take on for…the rest of your life? 😂 Try a time-bound hobby or commitment, it’s way easier to stick to, and perhaps make it more enjoyable! For example, want to host dinner parties on Fridays for your friends/family? Try hosting Friday dinner parties for one month and then conclude the commitment. Where can you apply this in your life?

  2. Check out the Eclipse on Monday! The last eclipse of this kind was in the 70s. This is a rare happening, so go ahead and hype it up! I’ve heard of some pretty cool eclipse party ideas. Cue the cosmic brownies and galactic puns 🪐

  3.  Set a time goal for a task, then double it. We sometimes underestimate the amount of time a task takes. Not hitting the time goal, or rushing at a madman’s pace to get there, leaves us feeling down and drained. Instead, try this: Identify a project, estimate the time it will take to complete it, then double that time. If you think something will get done in two weeks, bump that up to one month with mini-finish lines along the way to keep you on pace. Some races are meant for rushing (ahh, the ole track & field days), but life is best lived slowly to soak it all in.

“You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water”

-Rabindranath Tagore

Committed Action of the Week:

I will give myself adequate time to complete a few goals I’ve set for myself this week.

An article on identifying your values | Ever wondered who you really are, what you stand for, and what to do with your hands at any given moment? Clarify your values! It might seem spooky at first to not know who exactly you are or what this thing we call life is all about. It’s also refreshing to spend some time on this topic and get a little closer to knowing yourself.

Eclipse podcasts | Let NASA themselves accompany you on your car ride to get groceries this Sunday and learn all the things in time for the Eclipse 🤓

NCAA basketball final four! | Was this even a question this week? Not for me! My women’s bracket is tracking at about 85% accuracy * pats self on back * The cool thing about this season for women’s basketball is the viewership records. More people are tuning in than ever, I love to see it!
