🪴 Sunday Soothies | 2.25.24

Reflect, reset, and soothe your way into the week.

Welcome to Sunday Soothies, where we say ‘heyyy’ to Sunday Scaries and then get back to what matters most in our life. Cozy up with your favorite drink for some tips, tricks, and community to soothe your way into your upcoming week!

  1. Don’t forget about our old pal, Alternate Nostril Breathing! This breathing technique will calm your anxious mind in just a few moments. Try this one on your commute to work, in the school pick-up line, or first thing in the morning while your coffee brews.

  2. Hey people-pleasers 👋 Ask yourself this question: Who is pleased? This simple yet effective question can help us pause and reflect on our choices in the moment when it comes to other people. Chances are, the people we abandon our values for in the name of people-pleasing are never really pleased. Quick example - have you ever been tailgated by a fast driver? It seems like no matter how fast you go, it’s just not enough for ‘em. Who is pleased? Not the guy on your bumper, and he never will be. So stick to your values, and have your own back!

  3. Give CBD a shot. Personally, I had some hangups about using CBD products for a long time! After research and education, I am so glad to have that as part of my routine. My favorite CBD products are Young Living’s CBD line. My good friend Olivia Padilla is my go-to CBD and essential oils expert! She knows her stuff. Here are just a few things she’s taught me about CBD benefits: 🧠 Anxiety reduction, 😴 sleep improvement, and 😌 chronic pain management. I made a list you can see here of the products I’m lovin’. Go check it out!

PS: Use the code "SHAREYL” to get 10% off your order - thanks, Olivia!

Olivia was so kind and shared a TON of information with me to pass along to you, she’s the best! I created a Notion page just for the Soothie Crew to check out for extra education on CBD.

The CBD rollers are great. I have one in my car, one in my purse, and one at the office. Calm is my top choice, followed closely by Soothe. And the oil, I drop that under my tongue in the mornings.

Committed Action of the Week:

I will stay true to me and live out my values. I will not abandon myself for people I cannot please.

The Somatic Therapy Handbook | I loved the layout of this book. It was really straightforward and easy to understand. It’s all about using your body as a tool to process emotions and feelings instead of just getting stuck in your thoughts. Here’s a sneak peak: “Somatic Therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on building the relationship between the mind and the body. It is rooted in the idea that our emotions and experiences are not just in our heads but are also stored in our bodies”. There are lots of practical tools for you in this book as well!

A Deep Breathing Exercise for Stress | Check out this guided breathwork exercise from meditation teacher and trainer, Jeff Warren. I was feeling a little frazzled the other morning, popped this on my headphones and felt ready to tackle the day after!

The Woolong Grove Live Panda Cam! | This is certainly one of the plus sides of technology. You can watch the pandas live on YouTube 🐼 🥺
